HCI Wellness & Integrative Health Center presentations will feature creative artist, dance, writing, music therapy, and research at a top-tier research academic medical center that is also an NCI-designated cancer center.  Presenters will share case studies, data, videos of projects and interactions, practical strategies, research, and instruction on how creative arts therapies can enhance a sense of wellness for cancer patients, caregivers, and staff members.  

  1. I will present an overview of the creative arts services we offer at HCI including Lindsay Frei’s Stairwell Mural project at HCI, a clip from the documentary HCI’s communications team created to illustrate the beginning of HCI’s Artist-in-Residence program featuring Jorge Rojas (current Director of Education and Engagement UMFA), Dr. Annie Budhathoki will present on HCI’s patio project featuring Dr. Janice Byrne & MaryAnn Lee, my Ph.D. FAME Study, and video clips featuring creative writing from Dr. Susan Sample, and a Minding Motion movement class with Juan Carlos Claudio will be created for this presentation. 
  2. Heather Fellows (HCI’s Music Therapists) and Laura Sharp Wilson (HCI’s Artist-in-Residence) will co-present on the Artist-in-Residence Program and Music Therapy at HCI.
  3. Heather Fellows and Kaitlin Jasmin (HCI’s Music Therapists)  and provide an group experiential workshop.
  4. Laura Sharp Wilson (HCI’s Artist-in-Residence) will on provide an experiential art-making workshop.
